Accessing Narcan to Combat Opioid Overdose Deaths
Intranasal naloxone, or NARCAN™, is an over-the-counter medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. Community-based entities can request free NARCAN through DHCS’s Naloxone Distribution Project at https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/individuals/Pages/Naloxone_Distribution_Project.aspx. NARCAN is also available at pharmacies state-wide; visit https://narcan.com/buy to locate a retailer in your area.
